What you feed your body shows up on your skin! Dive into our nutritional advice to understand what your plate might be saying about your complexion. Glowing skin starts in the gut, and this section helps you explore nutrition in a way that goes deeper than the surface.

Nutrition & Gut Health

Nutrition plays a central role in hormone regulation, liver metabolism, and overall skin health. Protein is especially important for hormone synthesis, collagen production, and tissue repair. Current breakfast choices may not provide enough protein to optimally support hormones and skin. Increasing protein across meals helps stabilise blood sugar, reduces androgen-driven oil production, supports liver detoxification pathways, and provides the building blocks for healthy skin cell turnover. High-protein vegetarian options like eggs, cottage cheese, tempeh, tofu, or protein-fortified plant milks, alongside iron-rich foods like lentils, chickpeas, pumpkin seeds, and spinach (paired with vitamin C), are excellent additions. Combining protein with complex carbs and healthy fats at each meal also helps regulate insulin and androgen activity, while avoiding refined sugars and highly processed foods prevents blood sugar spikes that can exacerbate oil production.

Supporting liver function is equally vital, as it metabolises oestrogen and other hormones. Hydration, cruciferous vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, kale), and antioxidant-rich foods like berries and colourful vegetables reduce oxidative stress and support detoxification. Minimising alcohol and processed foods further eases liver burden. Overall, maintaining balanced meals with protein, fibre, and healthy fats, eating at consistent times, and monitoring key nutrients like iron and B12 ensures stable hormone signalling and energy. By focusing on protein intake, blood sugar regulation, and liver support, hormone production becomes more efficient, promoting clearer, calmer skin, balanced sebum production, and aiding the return of regular menstrual cycles.
